The Arab Health Exhibition is an annual medical and healthcare exhibition held at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre and is the largest event of its kind in the Middle East. Now in it’s 37th year, Arab Health will see over 3,000 exhibitors from 60 countries and more than 70,000 healthcare professionals in attendance.

Trifibre specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke flight cases and waterproof cases and have supplied many of the world’s leading medical organisations. Morbidelli 600 CNC Router adds to current cnc routing capability

As a company we are always looking for ways to move forward with new products and new markets whilst also improving our current capability. With this in mind we have invested in a high powered CNC routing machine to add to our existing machine. The new addition is a Morbidelli 600 CNC Twin Head Router. The router, of which the delivery is expected to coincide with the expansion to our premises in January will speed up and improve the production of our precision foam routes. The machine will not only be larger and more efficient that our current machine but will also run in tandem allowing us to more than double our output. In addition this will give us the ability to CNC route more heavy duty materials at a much higher speed such as the materials we use in our flight case construction.

Help for Heroes Guitar Flight Case

This guitar was hand crafted by Bob and Terry Young – the father and son team behind The Kids Room company, TKR Guitars, to be donated as a prize in aid of Help for Heroes.

Since Bob Young was diagnosed wit Parkinson’s Disease 7 years ago, his playing ability has become sporadic and unreliable. However, his love for guitar music and guitars has never waned so he turned his talents to creating individual, eye catching hand crafted instruments such as this, The Quocaster, an homage to the instruments played by Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi of Status Quo.

This Quocaster is still in the construction stage with construction fixings. After being autographed it will go into the TKR Guitars workshop where it will be fully stripped down and the body will receive a further ten coats of clear lacquer. The guitar will then be rebuilt with show quality fixings.

The upper hald of the double neck guitar is very similar in specification to Rick Parfitt’s guitar setup, having standard Fender Telecaster™ pickups and a Gibson™ style bridge. However, the bridge on the Quocaster is of the wrap-around stoptail bridge type with intonation relief built in, as opposed to the through body strung setup on Mr Parfitt’s guitar.

The lower half is very similar in specification to Francis Rossi’s guitar setup, having three Fender Lace Sensor™ pickups in the standard Stratocaster™ configuration. The stoptail bridge is a prototype designed by TKR Guitars and manufactured by BAE Systems 25 hangar at Warton. The part was then sent for decorative chrome plating via BAE’s sub contractor Silverfield Ltd, who in turn passed it to Aqua Plating in Preston to carry out the plating process. Special thanks go to BAE Systems Warton.

The flight case for the Quocaster is a bespoke case manufactured by Trifibre of Leicestershire, embroidery by Example Embroidery Leicestershire, with special thanks going to Sophie Roberts, Trishanth Parari, Steve Daly and Louise White of Trifibre.

The artwork on the back of this Quocaster was airbrushed and hand painted by Bob Young depicting soldiers in close proximity to an exploding I.E.D. in the background and an amputee in civilian clothing on crutches in the foreground. An evocative image I’m you’ll agree.

Finally, very special thanks go to Mr Rick Parfitt and Mr Francis Rossi for agreeing to autograph this guitar and thereby increase its desireability as a piece of Status Quo memorabilia.

Bespoke Aluminium Shipping Containers

I started to work with Dunlop Trelleborg approximately 18 months ago, they approached us looking for a company to work with on the design of a protective container to house their client’s shipping fenders, the fenders that Dunlop manufacture are used in emergency proceedures – if there are oil leeks / spillages to contain them, if a ship needs assistance whilst at sea, the fenders are blown up to size to prevent ships ‘coming together’ and to stop impact damage.

The remit was to provide a container that would be weather proof, sea proof, one that could accomodate the 2 tonne fender to be readily accessible as it would need to be removed from the container and actioned with the minimum of fuss.

We met with the client and worked through the technical details, tweeking a few things like lid access, locking mechanisms, hinge mechanisms. We produced CAD drawings and rendered images to illustrate the layout and the structure of the finished container as we envisaged it. The client was pleased and we received the confirmation to proceed.

The deadline of the ten container delivery is the end of August, the client has successfully taken delivery of the first 5 containers with the balance on schedule to be delivered mid August, ahead of the deadline.
